Submission Categories
The applications falling in any of the following categories should demonstrate alignment with one or more sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the impact on the sustainable development of Aotearoa / New Zealand.
(1) Research
Submit a summary of your research work / article using the following submission form
Three research articles will be shortlisted for the final presentation
Five shortlisted research articles will be invited to SCOPE and Rere Āwhio: The Journal of Applied Research and Practice
(2) School Submission
The school submission category includes all applications from primary/secondary/high schools across NZ
The joint teams may include non-school partners but should include at least one team from a school
Student’s direct involvement in the school team is compulsory and the projects may be submitted by teaching staff
The submission may include a portfolio of evidence (documents, videos, evidence of achievements, outcomes of the projects)
Three best school submissions will be shortlisted for the final demo / presentation on the day of event
(3) Idea
This category includes all innovative and smart ideas aligned with SDGs that can significantly benefit NZ
The applications can be submitted in the form of a presentation, demo, video, etc.
The ideas could be submitted by any type of participant as outlined on the event website
Three best ideas will be shortlisted for the final demo / presentation on the event day
(4) Māori Submission
This category includes projects / ideas involving Māori individuals or groups
The submissions should involve Māori and aim to benefit Māori (by / with Māori for Māori)
The applications can be submitted in the form of ideas or projects in the form of a presentation, demo, video, etc.
Three best submissions will be shortlisted for the final demo / presentation on the event day
(5) Pasifika Submission
This category includes projects / ideas involving Pasifika individuals or groups
The submissions should involve Pasifika members and aim to benefit Pasifika community (by / with Pasifika for Pasifika)
The applications might be in the form of ideas or projects and in the form of a presentation, demo, video, etc.
Three best submissions will be shortlisted for the final demo / presentation on the event day
(6) SDGs Project
This category includes any type of complete or ongoing projects strongly aligned with SDGs which has led to tangible outcomes with remarkable impact and benefit to the sustainable development of NZ
The applications can be submitted in the form of a presentation, demo, video, etc.
Three best projects will be shortlisted for the final demo / presentation on the event day

Shortlist Announced: 07 November 2022
Showcase & Award Ceremony: 29 November 2022
